Recurring Blister

Been running for years and no problems with blisters. Once I got off the treadmill these past few weeks and started running outside I started getting a blister on my right foot in the same place. Nothing has changed - same socks, same shoes. Weird, I know, but damn frustrating. Any ideas on how to cure this or what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks folks,
Chris

  • Sorry, I don't really have any feedback on how to fix it. I have (very) flat feet, run with inserts, and can only run with one very specific brand of socks or else a get a blister on my arches...but you haven't changed anything so...sorry, I can't really help you

  • My guess is that your gait on the treadmill is slightly different than outside. Once you run outside, you are getting friction in a slightly different place.  The result is a blister.  Eventually I bet that your blister will turn into a callous. If you can last that long.  If not, you could try a bit of moleskin on the hot spot.
  • Thanks guys - I appreciate the time you took to read and offer assistance.

I ran 5 miles on the treadmill this morning and while I didn't feel any blister (which is a good thing) I did get one.

Very weird. Let's hope that spot turns into a callous. I'll look into moleskin

    thanks again!
