Some more test results from me at the end of the Getting Faster plan. Did my swim test on Friday and it didn't go great. It started out good enough but about half way through I slowed down. Not feeling it at all. Possibly a nutrition issue leading up the swim, also possibly affected by my big MTB wreck of a week ago and the sore left tricep, wrists and elbows. Time was 24:30, 2 minutes slower than in February. Today I ended up doing a half marathon as someone I know was injured and gave me their bib. This went quite well actually. I wasn't feeling it at the start, but I hung on to my plan and came through ok in 1:41:13 and a VDot of 44. About 3 minutes slower than my time of 4 years ago when I was younger and focused solely on running. It is quicker than my end of OS time by 45 seconds and this is a harder course with 700ft elevation gain versus none on the last one. So I am quite satisfied by the improvement in run fitness I have gotten out of this plan.
Wish I could have been more active in this forum, but work has gotten very busy in this time too. Now I move onto the half Ironman plan for 10 weeks building to my first A race at the end of June. Good luck to you all with your race seasons. See you in the other forums. David
