Workouts Week of April 1
OK,
HIM intermediate wk 18 of 20 for me. Swim went pretty well Monday. Still a 2min/100yd kind of guy.
Tuesday AM trainer ride hurt with 2 x 20 @ Z4. 60 min run in the PM for the sweat test - lost 3 lbs of sweat in one measured hour.
AM swim today was lame, started late and had to leave for work after a mile but will work in an extra swim RR in my wetsuit soon.
Working on RR written plan and pacing guideline. starting to get excited.....

The Bike went pretty well with a steady pace and a slow increase in heart rate over the ride.

The run was immediately following the bike and seemed harder but the pace and HR was pretty much where it needed to be. Got the pacing for the negative split down pretty well (I hope).

I do have some concerns about the on-course nutrition options at this race though (posted in nutrition forum)
Overall, feeling pretty prepared. We will see.
Lots learned today
1. YMCA pool closes at 4:30 on sundays.
2. Size Large borrowed wetsuit fits well enough to swim in even though I'm 6'4".
3. Even a borrowed almost too small wetsuit cuts 10-15 sec per hundred off of my times. WOO HOO!
