Compact Cranks

Well

I am a proud new owner of an of FSA SLK Light Compact cranks. For free! Looked at my catalogue where I bought my bike to see some of its specs. Said it was supposed to come with Standard FSA SLK light standard cranks and i knew I had Shimano 105 on it. So Orbea sent the bike shop a 2010  set for me incomapct instead of Standard since I showed interest in compact. So props to orbea for taking care of the mistake in A+ fashion.

With that said, What should i expect!?

  • Expect to be faster.  All the cool kids have compacts these days, or at least the smart ones who do races with hills.  50/11 is a taller gear than 53/12 and 34/whatever is a hell of  a lot better for climbing within your power targets.  If people give you shit about having a compact just beat their ass in the next race and casually mention that later that the 10 minutes or whatever should have been 12 or so if you had not been using the girly gears :-)
