Jeff's Jan OS ending

Coach,

Scheduled to finish Jan OS on 4/20...I've been hacking OS with Run Durability....best schedule/location 1/2 marathon for me is 4/27....was planning to hit swim camp starting 4/21 till beginning of BRP camp....OS has been going really well.... hitting bike #'s and run frequency is high....several 1:45 long runs....a few long bikes on trainer and outdoor @ HOH & Battenkill

So my question is how/when to finish off the OS....if I hit swim camp I'll miss a couple long rides I was hoping for in prep for BRP....the 1/2 marathon isn't that important to me right now....I feel very confident in my run zones and recovery from my long runs has been quick...OS fatigue has been very mangeable (with some strategic rest days inserted)

  • Hey great to hear from you! While I understand your desire to be ready for camp, in the greater scheme of things it's not as important as having you fully process the out season work you have done. Given you have a half marathon a mere week after the end of the out season and less than five days before the start of the camp, I'm not sure how many more long rides will fit in there? :)

    Swim camp has workouts, and you're more than welcome to extend the bike once up into the 90 minute range. But I expect you to suffer at camp with the rest of us and experience a serious boost heading into the rest of your year. Deal?
