Follow Up to Run test.

Hi Rich, thanks for the information. I have the half marathon test race a week from Sat. The training guide calls it out on Sunday. How does the guide change. Sorry, I also am still not seeing how to sign in for the thread.

  • For my Bike test tomorrow - reasonable goal Watt expectation if 313 watt is FTP for 5' max. and 20' max?

  • 120% of 310 (btw 360-380) them recover...then 330ish for the 20'. The first test can always be a little sketchy, but those are good approximations. Let me know how it goes!
  • Good Morning Patrick, Just finished the bike test. It went great! I do need to mention that I discovered I had a leak in the back tire. On the 20' test I filled it to past 120 a bit and when I finished I was at about 80. I did not feel any slipping. I could have pushed a bit harder at the end but did not want to risk any problems. Looking forward to getting out on the road, but I really like these workouts. I am thinking of buying the Vector power pedals. Where do we use the 5' test numbers?

  • Hi Patrick, Thanks, My half ironman is on Sat. the 19th. You have it called out on Sunday on the workout schedule you sent me. How should I adjust the workout. Your prompt attention is appreciated.

  • Skip, there is guidance in the wiki under the self coaching section where you download the self coaching guide. In that guide it explains that on the race week when you race on Saturday you simply drop the Monday of that week and continue as planned. Please check it out and let me know if you need more help.
