How to Split "Big Trainig Day"?

I'm on week 11 of HIM. 6hr Big training day for Sat conflicts with other commitments.
What do you think about this alternative?
1. Fri: long swim + 3 hour bike ride
2. Sat: rest, and do the other capital commitments.
3. Sun: ANOTHER long bike ride - say, 2 hours –, followed by the prescribed 1 hour run.

  • Is an HIM Big day 1 hr swim, 3 hr bike, 1 hr run.? IMO, its most important to do the bike and run together. Timing/day of swim is optional. Main idea of BD is to wrap your head around running well after an HIM length bike, secondarily to expose yourself to nutritional challenges posed by going long. Pick a day/ time when you can bike run 3/1 hrs, and fit the swim in when you can. Its less about physical training effect than mental and nutritional preparedness training ... a learning opportunity about those two.
