Stefan Reiter 2014 Season

Coach I need your advice for my season plan 2014.

As you already know the 70.3 WC 2015 will be in Zell am See which is basically just around the corner for me so my ultimate goal is to shoot for a qualification slot for this event on the exact same venue image

The original plan was to have two A-Races (Linz and Zell) which are separated by a LOT of time.

Now I'm wondering if you would change anything on my season plan in respect to this priority change?

    Hi Stefan,

    Your season plan is below:

I don't really see a problem with the distance between these two events, you'll have plenty of time to have great performances at both.

Sorry, I don't really understand what your question or concern is?

  • There's no real problem at all - I was just curious if you would have any other suggestion to that season plan taking that priority change into account!
If you tell me the plan is just perfect the way it is now I'm fine too image
(Although this will be hell of hard season I guess .... )
  • No, your Season Plan is good. The GF plan is our best tool for making you faster and I already have you in that quite a bit, and in the "correct" weeks of that plan at the right time.

    Good luck!

My A-Race is in 2 weeks on 8/31 and everything is on track so far!

    1) I plan to do a 40k TT on 8/23 as part of a OD relay. I plan to extend this ride by 90' ABP by riding home. Good or bad idea?
    2) There's another 70.3-similar race on 9/14 I'm thinking of joining in (1k/100k/10k). It would be some sort of B-Race but actually as the distances here favor strong cyclists I would try to shoot for a podium place here. Any thoughts on this plan? How should I structure the 2 weeks after my A-Race heading into this race?

    1) I plan to do a 40k TT on 8/23 as part of a OD relay. I plan to extend this ride by 90' ABP by riding home. Good or bad idea? The 40k TT part is "ok." It would be a solid effort, but I don't think 7 days (the distance between this and your A-race) is enough for the training dose of this TT to express itself. I'm sure you'll recover from ^this^ effort time for your race...but it won't actually help you, if that makes sense. That said, the 90' ABP time would be counter productive. Again, 7-8 days isn't enough time for the training effect of that combined ride (TT + ABP) to express itself so it doesn't really serve a purpose = not needed.

(1) After the race, jump back to wk 17 of the HIM plan. This will be the base training week you'll use, post-race. (2)See the Self-Coaching Guide in the wiki for how we'd like you modify this week, HIM wk17. (3) Then, for race week, follow the HIM wk20 guidance.

  • No worries. Good luck!
