Two hiccups with HIM Plan

This week I started the Intermediate HIM Plan, leading up to IM KS 70.3 on June 8 (thus at Wk 13 of the plan).  Can you suggest how to manage the week leading up to each of the following:

1.  Saturday, April 26 - Doing a 13.1 race (B race) so not sure how to alter my workouts during the week leading up to it or on Sunday the 27th.

2.  I'm planning to drive from Kansas City to Houston on Wed, May 21 to watch a friend do IM TX on Saturday, May 17. I'm taking my bike with me so hope to get in some cycling and run time (not sure about pool access).  Will be interested in learning of a safe place to ride and how to deal with unlikely workouts on Wednesday and Saturday (and only a short workout on Sunday before hitting the road).

On Thurs, repeat the interval bike scheduled that week. The HM on Saturday is done as your long run for that week. Sunday bike per the schedule, not other changes required to the schedule that week.
