Newton lifespan

I'm on my first pair of Newton's (Gravity).  I love them, but the last two long runs have really hurt my feet.  Just the pounding, etc.  I'm not an experienced runner, so I suspect some of this is just the nature of long runs.  However, I have 450miles on this pair.  When do you find you need to switch yours for a new pair?

  • That's a typical lifespan. Might be time to start rotating in a new pair.

  • Agree with Al.. I normally stop at 400miles before switching them off.
I always buy 2 pairs in the sales and have one pair in use, the other are in the cupboard ready for use!! I start switching them around at about 350miles
  • I don't use Newtons but FWIW I don't go much above 300 miles in any shoes. I weigh ~140lb so I'm not beating the crap out of them either. When I start on a new pair and feel how different they are I realize that even in 250-300 miles there is a lot of wear. For racing shoes it's 100 miles.
