Tweaking Week 6 of 8 in GF Plan

I have tweaked week 6 of the GF plan due to a couple of schedule items. I took a rest/recovery day on Monday. Monday was supposed to be a swim day, but I was plain whooped. I had extended the week 5 Sunday run from 80 minutes to 100. This was the 3rd week that I have been doing that. The temperature for the previous two Sundays was 34 & 43. This Sunday it was 85. I can't believe how much that run took out of me. I knew it was hot so I didn't push the pace. I held it 45 seconds slower than my MP. I could have completed the swim, but felt I really needed the recovery to hit the Tuesday bike work. It turned out to be a good decision as I hit all the ranges during the ride. I was able to hit the ranges on the Wednesday interval run and Thursday's ride was better than Tuesday with all intervals being over 1.20 IF. My pool closed Thursday afternoon for the weekend. I looked ahead at this weekend and realize I will not get a WKO in on Sunday. (Work & Holiday Dinner) So, today I did a 40 mile ride above 80% With plenty of 1:30 hills and a 4 mile brick. I am planning a 3 hour ride tomorrow. 

Should I try to get the Sunday run done on Monday?

  • I think were talking tomorrow, but either way there's no need to force that run especially when you Crandol that another week and the weekend into being so tough. Remember we want long-term consistency...I'm never really ever worried about any one individual workout.
