Sondra Micro

Patrick,

I was scheduled to compete in a half distance triathlon in Marble Falls, Texas this weekend.  However, I have a HUGE family emergency (involving serious health issues with both my father and grandfather) which means I will be traveling to South Carolina this weekend.

Other than the fact that I am extremely disappointed to be missing the race -- and testing out my first half distance WITH the endurance nation training plan (which I love btw -- I have trained harder with less "injury" than any of my previous 10 seasons),  what is my best strategy for the remainder of my season?  I originally had a series of short races (few sprint, more oly) as part of the Texas Tri Series, without another half until September and October.

Should I just let this half go, move into the get faster plan as originally scheduled?   Or,  there is a possibility I can get into another half distance in the next few weeks, which would mean changing up the training schedule a bit.

Thanks so much,

Sondra Richards

  • Sondra - i'm so sorry to hear that news. If there's anything we can do, please let us know.

Thanks for the feedback on the plan as well, I love hearing that kind of stuff! :-)
  • Sorry, I hit send too soon. :-) I like you to try and find another half in the next few weeks… It's always easy to find one and manipulate the plan to get it right for you. But like to keep your momentum going, and it might be a nice distraction from everything else is going on. If it becomes too much of a burden though, we don't need to force it. If you can find a race, then just resubmit your season survey to Coach Rich and he'll take care of you.
