Trihatchling's Super Special Macro Forum Fun Thread!!

Hey Rich, loved the name so I stole most of it. I'll send you royalty rights based on my IM performance. Ok. So I am a teacher. I tell you this because my weekends last from July1-August 31. I actually loose track of whether it is a weekday or not.  So, it's Saturday all day everyday. I know, big sigh of sympathy for me. What that means is I can schedule my training times as needed and not use up Sat or Sun for big training times. Based on that knowledge I ask you, can I rejigger my training plan if I want to say, ride big (Re: race simulations) on Thursday instead of Saturday and still race for fun in a local sprint on Sunday?

Similarly, the 1/2 ironman opportunities most sensible for me are June 15 (flat & fast in Welland, ON) or July 6 (hot & hilly in Peterborough, ON). Now, I could train and simulate races and not race until IM Louisville, no problem. I subscribe to your thoughts as they pertain to early season marathons (NO THANKS) and half iron prep races for IM. The problem is I have a super-crazy friend who has decided to tackle IM Louisville as his first ever race!!! Not IM, but triathlon! So, I was looking to take him through the sprint-Oly-half progression prior to IM. I didn't really sent you a proper race schedule I guess, I just picked some nearby races I like. I am not registered for any other than Louisville. Anyhow, let me know some of your initial thoughts. If we need to "chat" about more specifics we can do that too. Glad to be drinking the EN Kool-Aid.

Yes. Best way to do this is:
Post in the Micro Forum a thread for Patrick where you propose "Tim's Template Training Week." That is, your proposed version of a rejiggered EN training week, based on how you know your personal week flows, etc. You and P will go back and forth with the determine a template and then you'll implement this on your own going forward.

They are inside that window I'll begin to tell you to not do them at all, as a function of how close they are to your race.

An HIM is another matter. I would need to know and plan for that. So...

    1. Please pick one
    2. Complete another Season Planning Survey so I can do another TSR for you.

Sorry about that. I opened it, meaning to come back to it, and then it dropped off my radar. Thanks for the bump!
