Nice work Chris! I actually went backwards a little this morning with an FTP of 219 W versus my prior 225 W. Kinda wondering if this is normal to see a slight drop after doing longer zone 2 & 3 rides? I'm not sweating it though, I hit 225W during the Get Faster sessions which seemed way more focused on the 20 minute test.
I have read in the Wiki that it is normal to see FTP drop a bit. IM training builds up a lot of fatigue and we are no longer doing lots of FTP specific work. I had a slight drop this morning as well, 230 vs 231.
I think part of what happened to me is I was too aggressive/optimistic, my VO2 went way up (This morning was 289 vs 277 last time) and the first half of the test I averaged 249 watts, but I ended up with a total average of 242. I completely fell apart in the last half. Oh well.
