Mark Forsythe Micro Thread
Patrick, Thanks for taking the time to talk today. Looking forward to ramping up the training. Quick question, Assume even though IMWI is hilly that a tri bike is better then a road bike? Thanks, Mark

Without a doubt you will want your tri bike on there, as there's just enough time in the aero position to make a real difference.
For weeks 6 and 7 of the plan I am thinking about skipping the Monday, low priority, swims and using as a rest day. My legs were struggling last week on the bike, would like to get one rest day a week into the plan. Current T-pace is 1:47 (at moderate effort) and Swim Golf of 81. I feel good about where I am on the swim at this point in time.
Also, any thoughts on doing the 1 hr threshold ride each week on a mountain bike. My ability to really push the heart rate is best on the mountain bike trails. Lot of that has to do with the extra effort in upper body to balance and carve the turns.
Thanks,
Mark
One other quick question. Thoughts on a 70.3 at end of week 12. I know end of week 11 has a long Saturday built in - not sure if we could flip weeks 11 and 12 or if I should just stick to the normal training. The race is about 2 hrs away from home, Muncie 70.3 and is not a major travel deal, on a course I am familiar with. For me, if its a long day of training I would rather do it with a lot of other people!
Thanks
Camp Weekend falls on a bad weekend for me. Better to move it up two weeks, or back one week.
Thanks,
