Incorporating a Swim Technique Day into Weekly Rotation
Hi Coach P!
Im in week 17 of the Adv HIM plan en route to IMRaleigh. I would first like to say that I am very pleased with the fact that even after many months off of swimming, my 1900m RR swim I did this morning was a minute+ faster than the same swim one year ago leading up to Eagleman 2013. Yay!!! But, essentially it is not where I would like it to be and I know at this point it is most likely my technique. So, my question is which swim day workout would you suggest I drop so that I can work in a day to exclusively focus on technique? I realize my HIM and IM swim times fall within the EN acceptable zones of "good swimming" but I would very much like to get to that 30' or less HIM and 1:10 or less IM swim and think a technique focus day would help me get there. Your thoughts?

From my perspective, the most important swim from an endurance aspect is Friday. You can change either one of the other ones to be technique oriented.
But remember there's no such thing, with swimming, as in technique work out. It's not like the other workouts do not involve technique. :-) You could modify all of your workouts by cutting the main sets down to 50s or even 100s which would allow you to spend more time swimming with better form than dealing with fatigue.
