Chris Dodd's Macro Thread
I'm currently following the 20 week IM Beginner plan for IM Lake Placid, 7/27. I just want to make sure my plan modifications look right to insert an upcoming HIM and the IMLP training camp.
I'll be racing the White Mtn Tri on 6/8 and then attending the IMLP training camp starting 6/12-15th. White Mtn. Tri is a 'B' race, since IMLP will be my first IM it has full priority.
Pre-Race
Based on the wiki I should cut my Thursday(6/5) run to 45' with strides. I will also swim on Friday morning if I have access to a pool or can get to the pond for some OWS.
Between Race and Camp
Tuesday(6/10) will be a swim. It's suggested to do a light bike on Wednesday but considering the WMT is a hilly course and I'll be at the camp with some heavy riding on Friday I'm wondering if I should do a light run instead. I'll also probably be traveling part of the way there on Wed. night after work. If I did the bike it would be before work & if I do the run it would be at lunch.
Post Camp
I don't need to plan that yet and I'll talk with Patrick during the camp to determine what changes I should make to the plan for the week following the camp.
The only other event I have planed before IMLP is the Peaks to Portland swim, a 2.4 mile open water swim on July 12th. As that gets closer I'll work on the best modifications to fit in the last RR. At this point my thought is to move that to Sunday(7/13).
Thanks.
