Soreness and training

Hi Coach,

I just raced a hard half iron distance race on Sunday and switched my plan for my next phase.  My legs are pretty sore and I am wondering if I should still do the same workouts of the "Get Faster" plan if my legs are sore, or if I should take a day off and do recovery stuff i.e. easy spin etc.

Thanks,

Justin

  • Just raced as in two days ago on Sunday?!?

I think the wiki has directions on how to stand down after races, but don't know the link to the direct article/post.
  • And, hey, I'm from Paradise CA, although I now live in Dallas!

    Love me some Sierra Nevada!
  • Justin - rest baby rest. I can always fix you if you are too rested. Let's keep this week pretty light and free, then you can load up the get faster plan to start next Monday or after the holiday weekend. We can always shorten it or adapt it from there.
  • Thanks for your insights. As it turns out, rolling my ankle at mile 4 of the run was a lot more traumatic than I thought. I did a light jog on Wednesday and made it about 10 minutes before excruciating pain settled in. Doc has me on light spinning and swimming through this weekend. Guess I am taking a little extra time to than I anticipated. image Thanks again.
  • Smarter now = faster later. Good luck. :)
