Having a tough time

I am currently using the Short Course Beginner, 20 weeks. I am in week 15 (started in week 10 to correspond with my next Sprint on June 29th per my season planning survey). I find myself every week unable to complete some of the workouts, especially the swim and sometimes the runs. Is there something else I should be doing? This week in particular has been the worst! I have had a few stressful events that will probably continue to into the next few weeks....Yayy, so I am sure that plays a huge role in my feelings of well being. Help!

    Are you not completing the workouts due to work, family, friction stuff that happens or is there a physical/training reason for it?
  • Thanks Rich for getting back to me so quickly...The short version is I think my overall physical fitness is below what some of the workouts ask of me. I find I need a day off here and there to recover... I am a beginner, beginner. I am also dealing with a sick relative in hospice care, so I guess that falls under "family" or "friction stuff that happens."

    Ok, thanks for the detail.

    The short answer is that you're doing the right thing by taking a day off here and there as you need to. If you need help with modifying a particular week (ie, week says to do A, B, and C, but B can't happen, what do I do?) you can post those in the Micro Forum here and Patrick will get right back to you.
