Hello EN!!!

Just wanted to say hello again, I did the trial but decided I couldn't foot the bill.... but now I have found a way!  I missed being here and can't wait to get started!  Brief background, I'm relatively new to tris, I've done a half and a full and am scheduled for another half this fall.  I have 3 young children (5, 3, and a new born... yes, I will post a picture because I was once told here it didn't happen unless I did! ), so time is tight, schedule tight and money tight which means one major race a year.  I'm from Oneonta, NY and teach PE there.  I do most of my training indoors for the bike, and on a track for my runs (knee problems), and have only been in the pool once since July.  I love posting to the point I answered a "coaches only" thread once during my trial membership (sorry about that) but I just love the comradeship here and feel everyone is good natured with a lot to offer.    I hope to get to know you all as much as I can and meet you in the future, its tough finding training partners and I have no one to hang out with at races!  I hope you are all getting outside now and that you have stayed injury free this out season with a strong will to work!  Talk to you all soon.

  • Welcome, or welcome back...

Can't have too much of an upstate NY contingent

  • Welcome Dan! Nice to have more Upstate NY peeps. I lived in Cooperstown, NY for 6 years and have been to Oneonta many, many times (it's the closest movie theater to Cooperstown). Should have some great weather this weekend for outdoor riding in Otsego county.
  • Absolutely, don't know if I'll be able to get out... but wishful thinking!!! I ride to cooperstown all the time, too bad you still do not live there, always looking for a training partner!
  • Welcome Dan! Is Nina's Pizza still around? I lived in Oneonta for about a year after college, which seems like a long, long time ago. Found memories of the area. If you can get out for a few rides, I recall a couple of hills in the area. image.
  • Yes, I don't know how long you've been away, but there seems to be more pizza shops than bars now...Shame. Too many hills, too many clouds, but I love it here!
