Powertap Problem
See if anyone has had this issue. Started a ride yesterday. Rode for 2 min...then it said "low battery"
I had the battery to change on my CPU...changed it.....didn't read anything/watts from hub.
CPU went to sleep during ride, indicating the hub wasn't sending signal.
After ride changed both batteries in hub.
It still isn't reading anything.
I did the dealio from powertap to Learn the hub...still didn't work.
I did the CPU Find....didn't work.
I have sent an email to Saris.......Anyone with thoughts here????

Are you sure the batteries you put in were good? Other than that I got nuttin.
Mike,
When replacing the batt in the hub, did you make sure the contacts were clean? I've seen it suggested you clean it with alcohol.
I had a similar issue last year with no reading from hub. After a couple of time shipping the wheel to Saris and local bike shop involvment, upgraded components in the hub, all to no avail, I suggested it was the computer and they replaced that and all has been well.
Do you have access to another PT? If so, you can see if your computer can read that wheel so you can at least eliminate the computer being the issue. I spend several weeks doing process of elimination. Hopefully, you can find the source quickly and get it resolved.
Dave
I will try all of the above suggestions.......
Keep em coming if people have more thoughts..
I will post what Saris says and also what my ultimate solution was once I know
Hi Michael,

I had a friend with a similar issue. The "learn" mode can take up to 3-5 mins according to Saris. If the batteries are good, clean and installed correctly then make sure you let the "learn" mode run its course. Good luck.

I've done everything......I talked with Saris
They thought maybe the battery cradle might have gone bad...Im going to switch my cradle from another PT wheel into the 'bad' hub and see what works
Otherwise....they want me to send the wheel to them to investigate
I will repost once the solution is known
Sorry you are going thru this. I cannot ride without power anymore. I always want to know how my effort stacks up to past rides.

I changed my hub batteries today and am having problems too. I went throught the Learn procedure successfully and was given a hub ID. The computer can't find the hub though when I attempt that. The computer batteries are new. I have a display but no data.
I tried everything in this thread with no luck. I just emailed Saris.
I just shipped my CPU and Wheel to Saris....I will post when I know what the issue was
