Frank Zaffino Week 12

Hi Patrick,

My plan calls for a 5 hour bike tomorrow, but family circumstances will not allow me to do the whole workout at one time. If I split it up, 2.5 hours in the AM AND 2.5 hours in the PM, will this translate into a training benefit or should I swap my Sunday workout?

    My run for today calls for 60 minutes with 6 to 8 30" strides then remainder at Z2/MP. My Z2 is 7:09 and MP is 8:00. Do I run this between these paces or stick with just the 8:00 marathon pace?

  • According to our charts, zone two is Marathon pace. I am confused?
  • Based on my 5k run test Z2 is 7:09 pace, but my goal pace for the marathon is not this. It is 8:00 which we decided on when I began the Run Durability Program....so now I'm confused.
  • There's a difference between Zone 2 / Marathon Pace and your Ironman run pace (which you are calling marathon pace). In the case of workouts that are NOT your long run, plse follow the stared plan paces, aka your Zone 2 / MP of 7:09. Thanks!
