Bob Hiller's stenosis discussion link

Patrick, Here's the link to my discussion of my stenosis problem, first posted in a macro forum.  I'm not positive I'm following protocol, but I'm tryin'.

  • Bob, perfect thanks!! I get what you are saying re walking, and that's an ok plan as long as you can properly eat and drink WHILE running (few can). You will need to train. That cramping issue is due to tightness in your adductor or inner quad. That's something you can improve thru stretching / rolling and perhaps massage. It could also be a result of that effort and might not show up in your IM but it's best to work on it and be safe!!
  • Thanks, Patrick.  I should be able to eat and drink while running.  I do it all the time in training, and pre-EN, in racing.  I'll also do more stretching of those muscles.

See you at the MT training camp.  Bob

  • Patrick,  Looking fwd to meeting you at MT camp.

    Questions:

Is there "support" on the bike rides at our camp?  i.e., re-supply of gatorade/perform or whatever liquid?  I only have 2 liquid containers on my bike.  Should I bring my 100 oz Camelbak?

I have a compact crank with 25-11 on the back.  I'm thinking of getting a 28-11.  What do you think?  I could bring both if they can use the same chain length.  My son, who is a bike mechanic, is going to answer that question today.  Maybe when he comes over to cut his parents' grass.   ( I pay him to cut.)  BTW, that son will be at IMMT.

  • Yes to 11/28. It's a two loop bike so you should have enough to ride 56 miles and then refuel. I have 4 bottles on my bike and 2 in my bike jersey -- gets me 2 per hour. There will be places you can stop to buy more fuel should you need it too...more details soon. Awesome your son will be there!!!
