Issues with Anti-Depressants and Anti-Anxiety meds

Hey All,

Ok, so i am on Anti-Anxiety meds (Lexapro) for well... Anxiety issues.  i am not shy about it and i have no issues being on the meds (well i do but it is what is its).  So my biggest issues is that since they upped my dosage a month ago, I have become more and more lazy.  I MEAN LAZY!!!  I am now typically working out 3 times a week.  I am currently on the "Get faster Plan"  But it is turning into the "Get Fatter Plan"... Heck, I am having more anxiety about not working out than anything else.  Yet, i cannot get my behind out of bed in the morning and i am wiped out by the end of the day.

So my questions is this.... (I know you all are not doctors) Can you share  your experiences and how you may have over come this issue. Any help would be appreciated? THANKS

Disclaimer... if you are not comfortable putting in the forum, could you message me?

  • Please go back and talk to your doctor. You should not be turning into a zombie! Exercise is an effective antidote for anxiety and depression. Please go talk to your doctor.

  • I agree with Jacklyn. Are you seeing a psychologist for counselling? I have not suffered from anxiety, but my son has and still does and he found counselling really helped him. She gave him some tools that he uses on a regular basis. If you are not, perhaps dropping the dosage back to where it was (obviously approved by your primary care giver) and then supplementing with counselling may prove better results.
  • I have changed meds and am starting to see a counselor. This week, I have been able to workout every day and i am hitting about 80% of my workouts. I am much happier with the reduction.

Thanks for the advice and help.
  • Your welcome. Please keep us appraised of how your are doing. Glad to see that you are getting back out there.
