Aero helmets (air attack)?
Thinking about replacing the brain bucket this year--my giro is approaching the five-year mark. The thought was maybe getting an Air Attack (no shield) or an LG course as a replacement. My position on the bike is comfortable, but positional fitness is still a work in progress. Should I just stick with the standard rd helmet? Any suggestions from the haus?
No desire for a full-on TT helmet. It's too hot here in the summer, and if I don't train with it racing will be no fun.

I've had an Air Attack for a year now. I use it except on the very hottest days (over 84F) for all my rides & races. Probably does have an aero advantage over standard issue Giros.

and cheap enough so u can still buy a regular road helmet
Hope you don't mine me tagging along here...I've been considering buying an aero helmet too. No idea what kind/style, etc. Does it make sense to buy an aero helmet if I'm a middle of the pack kinda gal? How much difference does it make and any suggestions would be great. I plan to use it for IMLP - weather can vary from cold and rainy to hot and sunny (all in the same day).
THANKS.
@Antoinette - I am also middle of the packish on the bike. I remember one of the coach's saying that aero "stuff" benefits people who are on the bike longer since, well, they are spending more time on the bike....I guess that makes sense. Also, in terms of bang for the buck, a helmet is probably the way to go in terms of aero gear.
