Lauren Micro Thread

Hey Coach-

I'm supposed to be getting in to my 12 week IM build to Madison today.  This past Saturday, I participated in a bike ride called the Horribly Hilly Hundreds-ended with 127 miles and 12,500 feet of climbing.  It wiped me out big time!  I took yesterday off and am thinking I should take today off.  But, my legs are still super fatigued-so I'm wondering how I should approach this week and this week's long rides. I am doing the Ironman Intermediate plan this year.  Thanks so much!

  • Lauren nice work!! You should be in recovery mode thru Wed, where you can do the brick but it will be for time not effort. Then back to the plan by Thursday!
  • Hey Coach P-

So last week I did the IMWI Camp up in Madison, except I changed it up by adding much more mileage. Thursday I did 105 miles, Friday 107 miles, Saturday 85 miles, and Sunday a ~16 mile run. This left me completely exhausted! So I took today (Monday) off, and plan on trying to swim Tuesday-but would you modify the rest of the week/biking/running at all? Just wanted to make the most of my weekend's workouts and not ruin it by jumping in too soon, being 5 weeks out from IMIWI. Thanks!
  • Lauren that's epic! Only goal post camp is Thursday run. So I'd spin easy for an hour on Tuesday, then another swim on Wed...then back to work!!!! :)
