Week 15-20 of IM Int - adjustment recommendation

Coach,

I'm in week 14 of IM Int - preparing for IM Boulder and I'm planning to make some adjustments for the final 6 weeks.

1) I'm moving camp week from week 15 to 16, so that I can use the July 4 holiday for the long rides. - What should I plan on for week 15, since the structured week is Camp Week?  I assume week 17, becomes the rest that was originally slated for week 16.

2) I have an all-day meeting on Sat of week 18 (supposed to be RR #2) - so I'll move that workout to Sunday.  I assume I don't make any changes to week 19 based on this shift of RR by one day.

3) Week 19, I need to be at a family event in CA on Saturday, July 26, so I'll only be able to run starting Thursday of that week,up until I see my bike again, when it arrives in CO (to help with altitude, I'm heading to CO on July 27, ahead of the Aug 3 race).  I can replace the 150 min ride with a 45 - 60 Z1 run, or should I do more?

  • Brett - Thanks for checking in! I say you do the Week 16 on 15, then week 15, then week 16 again, then week 18. Let me know how that works.

    Yes to RR on Sunday, and that Saturday before is off.

    That run replacement is okay; don't do too much...it's all about recovery and prepping for the race...not about training / fatigue. :)
