I am looking to do my first marathon in May 2015.  In looking at the EN marathon plans, I see regular plans and "balanced" plans.  What is the difference?

I'm making the decision to start with one of the beginner plans, as I'm re-building my run form.

  • Sounds good!! A balanced plan has 1 bike and 1 swim a week. I am not a real fan of all running only unless required (esp during travel). Check them out!!

    Hey... since I'm not doing IMWI this year (there's no realistic way I can make this happen...) I've signed up for a sprint on Aug 10th that I would like to do really well on.  I'm wondering if I should do a run-focused block since that's my weakest... Any suggestions on how to best use these next 5 weeks?  The sprint is Steelman; lake swim, moderately hilly bike, flat run.
