Jen's Macro Thread

Hi Rich!  Thanks for my season's road map!  I'm super excited!  While a little bummed initially, I'm of course taking your advice on dropping my marathon in Oct.

My first question is can I arrange the smaller workouts during the week to combine them into one day?  For example, I work 12hrs Monday, so can I swim-bike-run Tues?  I usually do 2 of the sports during the early afternoon, then break a few hours and do the 3rd in the early evening? But I have all day to arrange it as needed.

Second question is about Tuesday's bike test - I am not a power athlete nor do I own a heart rate monitor.  Do I just do the interval plan and not test that day?  I would purchase a heart rate monitor if it's recommended?

Thanks!!  -- Jen

    Hey Jen,

    Welcome aboard! Notes:

    • Yes, fine, for the most part, to combine days like that. However, as you get deeper into the plan and volume/intensity starts to go up, you may run into some difficulties. I recommend you reach out to Patrick in the Micro forum for week by week help as you need it. You'll find the Micro under the Forums drop down above.
    • Highly recommend you purchase a heart rate monitor and hold off on doing the tests until you do that.

    Good luck!
