TeamEN Race Weekend Schedule

Please enter your bib number and other information in our TeamEN Race Weekend Tracking Spreadsheet!!!

Ok, let's get organized!

In case you haven't seen it, please see the Race Weekend Event Schedule here. Note that there are NO practice swims on the schedule. I've seen talk that this might be the case for all WTC Ironmans, for insurance reasons. No worries...it's a swim, you get it, you get wet, you finish and then ride your bike. Move along, nothing to see .

TeamEN Schedule

*this is 95% fo' sho'. If/as things change, I'll update this first post with the most recent info. Please check this thread frequently, especially before you unplug for the week(end).

  • Wednesday, April 28:
    • Team Dinner at the Golden Corral in St. George. I've decide on this restaraunt on the recommendation of a local mtn bike coach. She has brought 40 person camps here, we'll have our own room, and everyone should be able to get any special pre-race food they want. Stay tuned as I negotiate the time, menu, cost, etc, but plan for 5 or 6pm dinner.
  • Thursday, April 29:
    • Four Keys Pre-Race Talk, 10am. We'll meet at the KSwiss booth in the expo and then walk someplace quiet for the talk. Sorry, I've never been to this venue so I'll have to figure out the actual location of the talk when I get on the ground. Attendance is MANDATORY for all TeamEN athletes and it would be supagroovy if you brought your friends, training partners, tri club peeps, etc as well. If you are on Facebook, please RSVP to the event here, share the link on your wall, etc.
    • Welcome Dinner: I think it would be fun of anyone interested in the dinner sat together, etc. I'd like to come and would need to meet someone in line so I can pays my $3000 for my soft pasta and cold chicken dinner .
  • Friday, April 30: nothing planned yet. Maybe breakfast? Lunch? I'll be riding, riding, riding, maybe out to Zion NP and back, but would be interested in hooking up with anyone not sick of me yet...
  • Saturday, May 1: RACE DAY!! If I haven't sold my road motorcycle by then, I "might" bring it out and ride support for the race. If I do, you'll see me out there. If I don't, I will likely ride the loop backwards during the race and then stalk the run course on my bike. Don't worry...I'll find you .
  • Sunday: nothing planned. Maybe talk amongst yourselves to meet for breakfast or coffee, swap lies, etc? I'll be on the road, either back to LA or into the desert for a 2-3 days of solo cycling.

  • Bump...is anyone paying attention to this? Input, questions, suggestions?

  • Hey Rich!

Just checking into the forms after a ton of focus on training.

I'm pretty sure the race numbers are here -- and if this is not right, let me know ASAP or just clobber the link:

    http://www.ironmanusa.com/participants/lists/10stg.html

    I am lucky number 1111.

With regards to the 4-Key meeting, I don't think I can make the 10am on Thursday. My flight into LV doesn't arrive until 9:20... and then I have to get out of LV and up to St George. I'll swing by the location if I get there around 10-10:30 and hopefully be able to say 'Hi', then off to packet pickup.

And, I'll update the race spreadsheet now-ish!

Only a few days to go. w00t!

  • Sorry for the silence, Rich. I'm good with the proposed schedule, although I not likely to show up at the welcome dinner....we'll see though...
  • May or may not make 4 keys but definitely won't be at team dinner. Don't land in Vegas til 11 weds night
    Lynne
  • Rich,

We wil be at the welcome dinner. You can sit with us. Call my cell when you get there: 925 487-6927.

We will not be at the EN dinner to eat but would like to stop by. It is Steve's Birthday that day!

    Carrie

  • I am # 477-what is up with that, I have never been under 1000, not sure our plans, we get in on Wednesday to Vegas and I will ask hubby about team dinner, we usually skip the cold chicken and pasta. Can't believe how fast this is approaching-I got to pack and get ready to ship my bike on Tuesday .
    see you all there
    Sheryl
  • Ok, turnout for the Team dinner on Wednesday is crazy low. Would it make more sense to do it on Thursday evening? In the past, at other races, many people haven't really been into attending the IM Welcome dinner, so we have done the TeamEN dinner that evening, at 5p, giving you time to eat and then go to the athlete's meeting at 7:30pm.

FYI, the cost of dinner at the Golden Corral will be ~$15/person (!) and you can just pay me at the dinner and I'll pay the restaraunt...I think. Let me check on that first.

So...show of hands of who would attend a Thurs dinner vs Wednesday. Thanks!

  • Hand raised for Thursday!

As a matter of fact, that would probably make Wednesday a little easier for B and Iand give us some cushion time on the drive over from Denver.
  • No for Steve and I for Thursday dinner. We enjoy going to the welcome dinner that IM puts on. Not for the food but for the talk about the town, the race and how they get you pumped up to race. Also IronPrayer is usually the hour before the welcome dinner. Have fun. I'll see you all at the 4 kets talk on Thursday am.
  • Hi All,

I'm Bib #872. Feel free to call my cell while you're in St. George (408-561-8875). The last four numbers spell TURK. I might not fare very well against the other 257 people in my age group, but I do plan to win the Turkish division at IMSG.

Not sure about dinner...Wednesday night would probably work better than Thursday. I will be at the Four Keys talk.

    Thanks!
    Simon
  • Rich I plan on eating dinner both nights. It makes no difference to me where that happens to be. I am good with either night. I have a group of seven or eight guys with me (bro and bro in laws + 3 friends). I can ditch them for the dinner or have them tag along. You met three of them at the recon weekend. They will all be at the race talk. Should I include them on the dinner or is that EN only? I am easy... let me know
  • Thursday would work for us. We just need to make sure that we are finished in time to attend the athlete 'mandatory' meeting at 7:30.
I'm listed as bib #1995 and Susan is #453.
  • @Tom, of course, their invited and welcome to attend.

Let's make dinner on Thurs, 5p. I need to confirm with the restaraunt and will update this thread.

  • Rich:
Count me in. I should have 5 individuals (all adults) to add to the company. Thursday will work fine. My bib # is 1879.

By the way, I havent received the EN singlet yet. Have you sent out the entire batch?
  • I sent singlets to the names I had on our spreadsheet. Please email me with address and size and I'll get it out today. Please don't post to a thread in the forum. Thanks. And update the tracking spreadsheet with your bib number

  • Two for Thursday night dinner.
