Pumped to start training

Rich,

Thank you for the roadmap and preview of training plans.  Having been through a very horrible internet training program earlier this year, I wasn't expecting too much when i signed up last week but am very impressed and pleasantly surprised with the level of attention you guys give each client.

That said, I would like to add some detail to the info i gave you in the trial membership sign up.  I have signed up to be a full member and will begin the Get Faster 8-wk plan tomorrow, but wanted to add a couple things and see what your thoughts were.

1) I have 2x half marathons scheduled: one for 1 Sept (Colorado Springs) and one for 20 Sept (AF 1/2 Marathon in Ohio).  While i don't mind taking it easy on one (or both) races, do you see any issues with me working them into my training plan?

2) I see that most plans revolve around a long bike on saturdays and sundays.  In the fall, i will have sundays and mondays off, so my thoughts are that i would like to shift my long rides to sunday/monday...any big concerns with that?

3) My wife (34, relatively same fitness level) is doing this ironman coz as well.  We wanted to see how the response was with the trial membership before committing her to anything.  Do you guys offer any couples discounts for membership?

Thanks and sorry for the long email.  Hope you are having a good long weekend.

No, half marathons are pretty much always good to do. Sketch method of working them into your training plan is:

    • Move the Thurs long run to your race day and your race then becomes your long run for that week.
    • Repeat the interval bike on Thurs
    • Do your schedule long ride on the weekend day that you're not racing.
    • So the goal is to get in 2x interval bikes, 1x long bike, and the race on the weekend takes the place of your scheduled long run.

    2) I see that most plans revolve around a long bike on saturdays and sundays.  In the fall, i will have sundays and mondays off, so my thoughts are that i would like to shift my long rides to sunday/monday...any big concerns with that? No, that's fine. So it sounds like you would just shift your entire week forward (or backward, me not so smart right now) as needed? That's fine.

    3) My wife (34, relatively same fitness level) is doing this ironman coz as well.  We wanted to see how the response was with the trial membership before committing her to anything.  Do you guys offer any couples discounts for membership?  Yep, we have a couples rate. Please email Anne at support@endurancenation.zendesk.com to ask her about that and get it started.

Thanks and sorry for the long email.  Hope you are having a good long weekend. Welcome aboard!
