Patricia's July
So far so good. Still way too much work but getting stuff in. Riding with group is helping a lot. Maintaining higher FTP but run suffering a little die to legs wasted after bike effort. Slept in compression tights which helped and hoping to swim in Barton springs to recover after ride today. Spousal bonus points by going to family reunion today. Work this week is going to be monstrous. Recs on run?

did a ride yesterday after work (4 hours of sleep...)in the heat up and down a tough route called the 3 b's and did ok. got close to home and found a group to tag on to. Power and heart rate were highest with the group! in spite of the 13% grade on the hills I had just finished.
Ok, I'm back on it. Pity I couldn't stay on task whole time to train for Maryland as I know it would have made a difference!
I'm off today but have commitment to go to Schlitterbahn with my son. Will do one of the required runs this evening after that. Am off this weekend for one of the 'killer' shifts. got 2 hour run and 3 hour bike in at end of week last week and rode Wednesday for the mid week 75 minute and extended it to 90 minutes. Did other needed runs so only missed one long bike. saddle sore all better. only one chlorine pool swim due to saddle sore last week but it was high intensity.
Two night shifts this weekend and incredible work load! Geez! good to be loved, hate to be swamped. Next year my boss knows I'm cutting down so total of 8 shifts per week instead of 10 plus usual feast/famine office work. I'm thinking I will be able to train for Lake Placid, do Boston and then some halfs. Not doing olympic length races out of town again except for Chicago and this next weekend Edmonton. too expensive and travel for such a short race is silly.... although Milwaukee was really lovely! and highly recommended for those who have not done it.
any thoughts or comments are welcome.
