My brothers new bike is coming in and he was just told that the Ultrega group was not available that they upgraded him to the 105, is the 105 better than Ultrega.
Thanks

Steve, what Mike said. I'd asks someone at the shop again what's deal this the component change and see if he gets the same response. Perhaps this was somone new and they made a mistake.
Otherwise I'll add that a comment like this from a bike shop would lead me to ask some probing questions about other upgrades I could get. It's only one comment but seems like a dishonest practice to not give a discount to your brother for lower grade components. If it was me and I got a similar response a second time (upgaded to 105) I would go in and tell the shop that I prefer the downgrade to Dura-Ace components and expect a discount on the bike.
Hopefully it was someone new but you never know.
Here's the wikipedia entry for shimano bike component levels:

That is what I thought, but I wanted to confirm. He is going to double check what they said, I told him unless the discount the bike tell them to wait for the ultrega.
I think Ultegra is probably the best value for Shimano IMHO.

Problem solved, they were suppose to put shimano 105 pedals but instead they are putting on the ultrega pedals, so he is making out.
Good to hear a bike shop doing the right thing, and nice for me since I am the one who recommended the shop.
Thanks
