Monday's are normally my long outdoor ride day, but LIFE events come into play so headed into the pain cave instead since I had about two hours to play with. 2 hour pain cave trainer session [focus was endurance at race pace effort] blasting old skool music in my garage of Led Zeppelin and Depeche Mode (strange mix, but I like the beats of DM when cycling): 15min at 160w, 90min at 205w, 15min at 165w.
Followed up by a 20min transition run on treadmill at 7.0mph.
Nice job Tim, you are lucky to have an OWS option but I hope you're not swimming alone!
David, I see nothing wrong that music selection, rock on and nice numbers on the drainer. Maybe add in some New Order to the mix!
Epic fail for me today on swim. My upper chest infection continues and on bike and run I can hack it out but in the water I feel like I'm being waterboarded as all the "stuff" settles when I go horizontal. I did 1200 of all 50s and 400 kick just to do something but any more than a fifty and my drowning instinct kicks in from not being able to breath and I have to stop at the wall and reset. It's getting very old and frustrating! I'm doing pull-ups and stretch cords just to keep the arms moving while my body decides when it's going to get rid of this crap.
Saturday was a 30 mile ride followed by a 4 mile run. I was short on time so I increased the intensity. I spent the rest of the day driving the kids around town.
Sunday was a sprint tri on a course I have raced many times in the past. It begins with a .5 mile swim. The bike course was lengthened from 14.5 miles to 16 miles, and the run is a 5k. I ended up with a PR on the course even with the longer bike.
@Captain Mariah .... lets get with the weekly threads? :-)
@Skip awesome sounds like you are racing well... I keep thinking about you and Kathy racing 2 IM's a week apart!
@Attilla... sounds like you may actually need some anitbiotics to get rid of that thing sounds pretty nasty... Yes lucky to have a very nice OWS spot 50' from my door.... 99.9% of the time I swim with Heather but not the same pace so we may as well be alone... Always along shore and most of the time in wetsuit (float gear)...... I do swim solo and without wetsuit on occasion.... Figure its no worse than possibly crashing a bike off the road where no-one can see you all by yourself.... I used to swim to an island and back but the occasional boat traffic was too risky :-)
Guys the next weeks thread was posted on Sunday and Jamie is already posting! I will do each thread on Sunday night for the next week. Hope that helps!

Happy training all.
