Attila Matyas - Micro

With summer family requirements of running kids all over the place – feel like a taxi service - work/life obligations from week-to-week I’m trying to squeeze in the workouts where I can.  The swim and bike have been ok but the run is suffering because I’m having to fit a lot of them in during the hottest part of the day or early afternoon.  Consequently I have not been able to hit most of the numbers asked for in the plan because of the heat/humidity causing HR to get totally jacked even trying to get close to numbers.  This has caused some of the runs to get cut short or done for time but not include all the inter-run intervals.

My question is how to deal with this week-to-week.  Do I just do my best at hitting paces and accept that it is what it is or am I short changing myself considerably and will pay for it come IMChoo.  I’m trying my best to shuffle where I can but today was a prime example of having to fit the interval run in at the hottest part of the day during lunch and no way was I even close to what the plan called for.  It’s getting a little frustrating and I’m getting nervous that I won’t be ready.  My training for IMFL 2012 was obstacle free so I was a little spoiled so now I’m a little lost in how to navigate.

Thanks for your help.

    Hahahahhahahahhahahaaaaaa! :)

Running steady is also okay. IOW if you add up all run time across a week -- say its 4.5 hours with 1.5 hours of it being FTP related -- then we want 4.5 hours of running. Bonus if you can do intensity. Maybe do the 2x1 mile before weekend ride if you can when it's cool? Your call....

All this heat prep might have you better prepared than others given IMCHOO!!
