Scott Giljum Micro Thread

This is the first time I have needed this, so hear goes.  I will be on vacation out of the country from 7/25 to 8/1.  That correlates basically to week 15 (camp week) of the IM training plan.  I am doing the advanced plan.  I am not sure/don't think I will have much access to a bike (more than a bit of a concern) and may not have a lot of swim access either.  I am hoping I can get in a lake to swim but am not sure.  I am also hoping I can rent a bike and get in some miles, but the travel company is spotty at best right now on helping me with that.  I am traveling to Switzerland, so I am giving them a little bit of a break.  My question is how do I hack that week (and likely the weeks around it) so that I don't fall off the map or kill myself trying to "make up" for missed workouts?  Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Scott the vacation isn't the end of the world for your fitness. Most folks will benefit from the break! I say that you plan on either doing camp week before you go or after you return -- you can modify with the drop down menu on your plan page -- so 12/13/15/vaycay/16... Or 13/14/vaycay/15/17.

    Are either of those an option?

    When on the road you can get a good run block in, priorities being the long run and FTP run, everything else is a 45' steady run with strides at the end!
