Anybody have a Roomba?

I have a 3-story townhome, and 5 pets.   I'm wondering if a Roomba would help me keep up with the tumbling tumbleweeds of animal hair on our floors.  It's not a big deal right now, but it may be helpful when it comes down to time to train for IMFL.  As it is, I sweep/swiffer 3 times a week, and it could really be every day.  Does anyone have a Roomba?  Pros and cons?

  • Have it! And Luv it!

  • Have one. Don't use it as much as I thought. Interested in buying?

  • @Gina - maybe! Do you have the special pet hair version? I also have not approached T about this yet - she may not want one, or she may think I'm a genius!
  • I heart my Roomba. Lily used to like him quite a bit as well. She would sit/sleep on it when it was hooked up to the charger because it was warm. Occasionally she'd turn it on by accident and ride it/chase it around the house! One day I came home from work and discovered Roomba wasn't in his dock. I looked around and eventually found him locked inside a bedroom with Lilly! All we can figure is that she turned him on, and then he knocked the door closed and locked her in the room with him. She's been traumatized ever since and now hides whenever Roomba is running! HA!

Seriously, it works great, especially on hard wood floors, gathering up the dust/fur bunnies.
  • K- I have to look, it is put away right now. Seems like it's not, because when I was reading reviews, many said the "pet hair" version wasn't necessary. Will look in a bit and let ya know.

  • OK, G, thanks! I may not need to the pet hair version just for the hardwood and cement floors. How much do you want for it?
  • I agree with Nemo. My cat loves to chase it for one. And it does a great job of picking up stuff you wouldnt even normaly see. Like little bits of dust. You should see the stuff that comes out of it. It is a bit noisy, so we run it when we are not home. Im a pretty skeptical guy when it comes to products like these, but it really works.

In fact, it works so well that I just remember the Navy is actually using them aboard ships to clean. Check out this article: gizmodo.com/5475726/the-navys-fleet...ing-robots

Not only do they clean hallways, they can clean a cave 200 miles away with deadly accuracy.
