SWEET! we have a home
Thanks Coaches.
This is the place for all B2B full and half entrants to congregate and exchange information about the upcoming race.
I know that at least 4 EN members are racing B2b this year. I was thinking that I would go and try to ride the course (or as much of it as possible) on the weekends specified as RR in my IM pan, I am only about 4-5 hours away so the drive is doable. I would be very interested in joining any other team members who are racing B2B if they would be interested in that. My review of the Beginner IM Training Plan indicates that the RR#1 falls on Sept 20 and RR#2 falls on Oct 11. Anyone interested? ( we could change the weekends if needed).
Also, I notice that the on-course nutrition option is only HEED. I really do not like that stuff but am going to try and train with it and see how it goes on my gut. Anyone else have other options (except for schlepping 10 bottles of perform)?
I would also like to do a team dinner on Thursday night if everyone is going to be in town.

I do not like HEED either, but if I learned anything this year, it is to use course nutrition for a full. I'd see what the WS members have to say about it.
I'm in Charlotte and would love to head down and ride the course. I'd be happy to help SAG for all you full distance athletes too if it works out.

Swim tomorrow then big bike weekend
Sat ride today 58 miles in 3:14 with TSS of 198. Clearly I am going to be in the "greater than 6 hour bike split" group at B2B. Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

only saw 6 squished Armadillos today.
Sprint race tomorrow.
I participated in a 24 hour cycling event that raises money for local families who cannot afford treatment. I got to be safety rider from 10pm-2am (i.e. set up knocked over cones, and make sure everyone is riding safely... ) Got in 40 miles and free pizza. There is something really neat to be able to ride on a closed, lit, 3 mile loop in the middle of the night.
Since I had a bit of a change in my training schedule, I decided to do my long-ish run today. I'm coming back from a pretty bad stone bruise on the bottom of my foot. Today was only my 2nd run back in 3 weeks, and it felt like it. Nevermind the pain though, it was worth it when it was done.... and NO PAIN in the foot!
Hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday.

I'm doing the full and just posted something in the nutrition section on this Forum. I've used Heed in other races and have been practicing with it for the last month....I'm going back to Roctane and will just deal with having 4 bottles on the bike and 4 baggies in my special needs bag. Heed is crap.
My RR falls on a weekend when I am out of town...I have to spend the last 2 weeks of Sept in DC. I'll take my bike with me, but not knowing the area and being there for work, my schedule won;t be too flexible. So I'll do my RR a week early. I'm a little freaked out about fitting in the rest of my workouts those two weeks. I'm not sure if I'll be working weekends or not.
If it would be more convenient, we could do a race rehearsal on the course on a weekend other than that specified in the plan. We just need to know what weekend is best for folks.
