Frank Zaffino - Half-Ironman??

Hi Patrick,
Sorry I wasn't very talkative after LP, I was pretty much out of it and extremely disappointed and frustrated with my day. Race report to come soon.
Just wondering if doing a Rev3 half Ironman on Sept. 14 would do me a lot of harm coming off of LP? If I were to register, what type of training would you recommend? Because I'm feeling so crappy about my execution at LP, I want to finish the season off on a more positive note by doing well in this event. This race is literally in my backyard and would have lots of family and friends there to support me and see me race. However, if you don't think it's a good idea, I will listen.....maybe (just kidding)

  • Hi Patrick,

Based on our texts, I did register for this race! I am excited to get back into the training but will continue to take it easy the rest of the week. Should I load up a Half-Ironman training plan to end on Sept 14 and follow it for the last 5 weeks starting on Monday?

    Many Thanks Patrick.

  • Frank you
Can bike and swim per the plan, but run for time (EASY) for the first week.

I understand you are frustrated, but adversity is an opportunity to improve. You and I both know you have a great race waiting to come out. Man, you looked so crazy fit.
  • Ok, will do.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it. And yes the adversity already has me motivated to make changes, particularly, with the nutrition aspect. I truly believe that is what's missing in my performances.

I am registered for 2015 LP and hotel already booked, only 51 weeks away....can't wait!!
  • Ok. Let me know when you want to talk food.... :)
  • I'm ready to talk food anytime. I have some ideas that I would like to discuss with you. Maybe during our call we can discuss.

  • Also better if you write it all out...what you planned to do / trained with, then what you actually did in the race. When are we talking?
