Thanks for the info. I always knew my cycle had an affect on training and racing. Guess I was trying to ignore it. But now that I know, I can plan better and not get too down if I have a bad training day or two right before. Thanks!
Pulling this backup and the article was interesting, but didn't really help on suggestions for my issue.
I just realized that I have a race the day my period is projected to start. I am stupid consistent so pretty sure it will be on time - which means it will be in the middle of my race. Doing a 1/2 Ironman.
this has happened before - 3 times - the first 2 times I didn't put it together until I was in the shower after the race . the 3 time I knew exactly what was going on.
Usually during the run I feel nauseous and no energy, it's different than bonking or the 'normal' feeling of a sucky/hard race.
Any of you have any suggestions on how I could get ahead of the nauseous and no energy?
Well, estrogen is supposedly low and therefore oxygen uptake is at it's maximum. So I guess if you don't feel like shit, you can really perform well!.... so when I had this conversation with the gyno... she said that the way to get the ibuprofen to work best for you (I was a heavy cramper) is to start taking it a day or two before it starts. It helped. I don't know what to say about nausea....mine was mostly because of pain and once the pain was under control, I didn't have any other major issues.
Rich, see what happens when you troll the chicks forum?

That was extremely interesting. Thanks, Brenda.
I had heard this and my gyno confirmed. Everyone is different, but I need to ask her about menopause.

I just clicked on an active topic and landed here... didn't know that there was a chick forum. Now that I know, I can actively stalk it!
LOL!
