Saddle soreness issues revisited, Brenda please read

So I've read the previous thread and I hope all you ladies will chime in, especially Brenda. I was in the doc's office this am getting a pimple in my very tender saddle area punctured and squeezed, but unlike Brenda, my doc omitted the freezing session. I think the freezing was bad, but maybe it was to save you from the stick and the squeeze pain. Anyhow, I am terrified of tomorrow's ride and I never heard the end of Brenda's story. Could you ride right away?

  • Ouch!!!! In my ultramarathon cycling days - prehistoric times - 80s early 90s... I used Prep H for some painful sores - numbing - lubricant - moisturizing... It helped enough to be able to sit down & more than once. Use a generous SQUIRT!!! Kinda embarrassing buying the big mondo tube (yeah & sometimes I'd send my crew in to the store to get a tube while I was riding!!!). Susan Notorangelo of Lon Haldeman & Susan Notorangelo fame shared this with me - I think at Paris Brest Paris 83 or maybe one of the qualifiers for PBP...
  • Hi Jodi, I could not ride right away. I followed the, ur, treatment at the doctors office, with baths with water and epsom salts and extraction treatment (you know what I mean) for at least a couple of days and then I could ride again. It has taken a long time for it to be completely gone, but I was able to ride relatively long (3 hours) a couple of days after the treatment.
  • Thanks, Brenda. I've got my finger crossed (ok my legs crossed) that I will be in the saddle soon.
