I've got my eyes on IM MD for 2015.  According to the Athletes guide this race will be conducted on October 3rd which is slightly to the right from 2014's September 20th date.

I did Chesapeake Man in 2013 and it looks like IM has tweaked the course just enough to make it better.  Also, this course is two hours from my house and nearly impossible for me to pass up with the easy admin and lower cost overall. 

My Question: Is there any reason to think IM Maryland will sell out quickly?  anyone have the inside scoop.  I'm planning to register online the day after the race.

    Of course there are no guarantees but I doubt that IMMD will sell out quickly.  We are 4 weeks before the 2014 IMMD and general registration is still open.  You may want to make hotel reservations early though.  Every hotel and B&B in Cambridge has been sold out for several weeks.

    in 2013 I think I stayed at a Comfort Inn which was actually pretty nice and close to the race.

    I'll be making reservations somehwere same day as registration at the latest.

    i agree a with George. The only way the race will sell out is if Team Z, FeXY, and TnT start promoting the home town race. Since there are tons of Tri group in VA, DC, and Maryland, i think they will push folks to this Ironman.

    I also believe the race did not sell out this year because folks had their races already scheduled for this year and adding another IM would be a little hard.

    I know for sure IMMD is Team FeXY's 2015 "team race". How many sign up is another question.
