Bob HIller's 2015 Macro Thread
Rich,
My Raleigh 70.3 and IMMT in 2014 were not good, but I will be in my 2nd year with EN in 2015. Inspired by John Withrow's IMMT Prologue in which he started with a goal time and worked backwards, I would like to discuss with you setting fairly specific goals for my 2015 Hawaii 70.3. I know the weather conditions are variable, but I would like to set training goals based on theoretical perfect race day conditions for that locale.
My training went well in 2014 and I anticipate will be even better in 2015. I am sort of semi-retired, so I have time to devote to training and recovery. This may be pie in the sky, but before discussing the specifics with you, my lofty goals are: Swim 31:30, bike 2:42-2:45, run 1:48-1:50. With combined transitions of 3:30, this would be about 5:05-5:10. My PR is 2010 Syracuse in 5:51. In 2012 at Raleigh I was off the bike 2nd in my AG at about 3:36, but had a poor run. That was before EN.
It may be helpful if you have time to read my IMMT Race Report. I am nursing a sore left foot from IMMT presently (8/27/14) and do not plan to run before mid-September or the beginning of October.

Thanks, Rich. When you have time. Not in a hurry. I know you've got IMWisc.
As my Dad used to say, "I'll get a round tuit."
