St Croix 70.3

My wife and I were thinking about maybe doing the St Croix 70.3 next year. Has anyone done this before? Was looking at the website and it's not the normal Ironman website, makes me question the race a little. Just looking for some feedback. Thanks

    Send a PM to Paul Hough, I think he did it a couple of years ago. It is a legit race with a very tough course. Historically it has offered Kona slots (unusual for a 70.3 distance) and that has attracted a lot of very fast dudes. I believe they will discontinue that as of the 2015 race next year.

    Yep. Did that race in 2012. There's a Race Report on file somewhere in the EN archive. Traveled with EST for that race...always logistically smooth with Ken Glah, but still rented a car for one day to see some things on my own (they drive on the left there). Nothing wrong with the race website...St Croix is licensed, not owned by WTC that's why it's different. It's a small race to begin with and the loss of KQ slots will hurt them, but it's a bucket list race for sure.

    Thanks for the feedback. Was considering this race because it would be our 2 yr anniversary weekend and it would be a nice  getaway, but flights are pretty pricey. Will keep it in mind.
