  •  Thanks for the reminder Gordon.  Good to hear you are on track.  Other than bookmarking the address, is there another way to get to the link easily?  Anyway, here you go, hope everyone is feeling lighter today and have a great day!!!

  • Nice Job Gordon, I personally gain weight when traveling as I end up eating out much more.

I'm down another pound today! It would have been nice if i was this weight yesterday as my w/kg would have been higher on my final test.

.8 more lbs to drop by Monday at 10 AM :-)
  •  @Matt, too funny, when I read it in my email I thought it said 8, I didn't see the ........ mark!  I was going to ask how you planned on losing 8 in a week!!!  Good luck!

  • Good job folks - 'I'm not worthy' as I've goofed off weighing myself for a few weeks now - the reason? Yep, reckon I've gained weight again, not much, but enough for me to notice it.
I did get myself all geeked-out so decided to stand-down for a while on the weight topic - I did start introducing more carbs; for sure, I was losing weight but diet lacked enough carbs, too protein oriented and I believe my progress was being limited, especially on the bike (I'm still in OS).
I WILL weigh myself in the morning & report back!!
  • I fell of the wagon a few months back. Being 5 weeks away from my first race I decided I needed to concentrate on body comp just a little bit more. You know, trying to eek out as much w/kg as I can. I was at 167 this morning with a goal of 165. Hopefully I can maintain that for the next few weeks.
  • Held steady this week, and consider that to be a bit of a victory since I was high stress at the end of last week trying to fit in papers for the Exercise Nutrition course in my masters program at the same time as trying to get ready for an ultra on the weekend.  End up zonking myself somthing fierce with some bad nutrition (I know, ironic isn't it? ) and light or no workouts for several days.  So holding steady ain't bad after that.

I went to a USAT sponsored seminar in Baltimore last week on a 'new' nutrition concept and decided to give it a whirl for the next couple of weeks, it's sort of inline with what I've already been trying but there are some key differences.  We'll see how it works out..

  • Tony, have you posted what the new nutrition concept was before?  I'd be interested in hearing what it is about.  I know very little about nutrition other than what I eat makes me larger!!!!  Thanks!!

  • Thank again guys for keeping this going! I am down another 2 #s and now those new pants my wife bought me a few weeks ago are no long fitting and my belts have run out of holes. I like having that problem. I am off to Houston for the weekend, a 150+ mile bike ride to Austin. Looking forward to it, updates next week. Thanks again.

Ok, weighed in a day late & first time in a few weeks - up 4lbs on where I was 6 weeks ago - I'll take that though at this stage; have 8 weeks to my A-race 70.3 (which is a hilly beast!) so be nice to drop the weight back again BUT not at the expense of bike power. 6 weeks of RP may help.

  • Long story short, last year I had to be switched to a different BC pill for health reasons. At my annual GYN apt today the doc asks how things are going with the new pill. I say fine, but I've had trouble managing my weight since the new pill switch. She says "yeah, that's the one we call the 'hungry hormone', I'm not surprised". Ugh, NOW they tell me!!!!
