For the foam roller lovers...TPT GRID???

has anyone tried this thing (GRID foam roller from Trigger Point Therapy products)?  It looks like a foam roller on PEDs.  I love my foam roller, and this has me intrigued.  But, its 4x the cost of a traditional roller.  Just wondered if anyone has one, and if you like it.

  • Andy- Got one for Christmas and it is great!! "Harder" than traditional roller and you can really work the muscle groups.
  • I like it... after putting a pretty big dent in the middle of my foam roller I had to replace it and decided to go with the grid. As Gina said it is harder, but I actually think it works a little better. Not sure if it is worth the extra cost on that alone, but I'm pretty confident I will not need to replace the Grid nearly as often as a normal form roller.
  • Thanks for the heads up, I just got a foam roller a couple of months ago and have already worn it out. What a releif the roller is after I got the hang of it and past the pain.
  • I just ordered a new one that my bodywork guy had - its amazing! Its called a Rumble roller and it will really get into your muscles - expensive, but will replace a couple of massages.
  • We have both the grid and a foam roller.....I usually start with the foam roller and move up to the grid. If you like Pain, you'll love the grid.

It does work the muscle knots (spasms) alot better than the foam roller.......I usually screen out some choice words

  • My foam roller is already wearing out. Good to know that there are replacements out there that are sturdier.
  • I've played with most of the foam rollers out there and I have to say....the Grid is awesome. Extra firm and the different contours let you do pretty much anything. My only gripe would be it's size. Kind of a pain to travel with.

  • The Grid is a great piece of personal rehab equipment. I just did a talk for a local triathlon club on foam rolling and everyone decided, after I gave them free foam rollers, that they wanted to order Grids also as I had one at the office to check out.

  • Leigh,

As for travel I put it in my roller bag/suitcase and stuff it with socks, underwear, any athletic wear, etc I'm using during the trip so it really doesn't take up too much space in the luggage.

  • I love all the TP tools and have been thinking of adding the Grid to the rest of the collection. May have to order soon. . .

  • I have had Grid envy for awhile, since I first saw it online...I might have to spring for it. Donna, I have to laugh at myself and share it with you; that when you wrote that your body work guy had one, I thought it said your BODY GUARD had one!!! I thought, "wow, what does Donna do that she has a bodyguard?"
Can you tell I'm one tired teacher on a Friday afternoon?? (Fried-day!) LOL!
