did Edmonton, did Mont tremblant world's

did well at MT.  6th in AG.  I held back on the bike and managed to pass LOTS of folks in the run, although I was 8th on the bike.  3rd out of water which is truly amazing as I missed the start of the wave!  (34 minutes at 1:49/100m)  Could I have held back too much?

ok, Maryland IM.  two weeks.  any modification to plan for this?  I'm thinking chill, and short speed work.  Your thoughts?

thanks!

  • 6th on the world has a nice ring to it. :) and I love the execution!!? Can tell you on holding back; that course is tough. My friend went from 2nd to 5th in last KM of the run. KILOMETER! :( I like your version better.

Chill thru Friday then you have a handful of days before MD travel. Do what you like...but I'd spend a healthy amount of time making sure my bike was all set, etc. Travel can wreak havoc!
  • oky doky. thanks! taking bike to mechanic tomorrow. patience on the bike is tough!!! but passing that curly haired French lady and the Texas Iron person was really fun! I have no idea if they were in my age group but I think the Brit I passed going up that last hill on the run into the village was image
  • I heard they made you run the cobblestones 2x --- sick!
  • I remember doing the full IMMT in 2012 and we had this lovely flat run out and back but a very uncomfortable hill to head back to town for each loop. that was hard! thank goodness this was short. did yo have to do a hill at the end of the full?
  • I just downloaded the run and my heart rate average was 158 with max of 168 for the last 30 minutes.  Whew!  I'm turning into a humming bird!  My pace was still pretty ordinary for me at end of a half ironman but I guess I was pushing pretty hard?  or maybe I was just too excited to be done :)
  • We didn't have to run those cobblestones. :)
  • makes one appreciate cush in the shoes image. had cobblestones in Paris marathon. couldn't tell if I had neuromas or it was the terrain
