Shack's Micro B2B issues

Coach,

I am about 6 weeks out from the B2B half distance and entering week 15 of Int HIM training. I am becoming a little concerned because I have not been able to do all of my workouts over the last few weeks.  The swim workouts have especially suffered.  This weekend I just could not find the motivation to do the Saturday RR brick or the Friday RR swim. Just wondering if I need to adjust my workouts for this week?  I plan to do them as normal going forward otherwise.

  • Keith, sounds like you need some down time. I will advise, but it would be good to hear something about what else is happening in the 90% of your life outside of your training. Work? Sleep? Family?

    I suggest that you swim only Monday, total 2k. Tuesday is a short 30' run with a few strides at the end. Wednesday is bike workout only...then we are back into the plan for Thursday...please let me know what you think!
  • Work is piling up. I really need to put in the extra hours but those are my training hours. I will follow the plan for the week. I should be able to get the run and swim in tomorrow. and will focus on doing the rest fo the workouts for the week. And will make some time to relax.
  • Keith it is crunch time from a training point but that said there is only so much stress you can physically handle. The critical workouts are Thursday run, sat bike and Friday swim. The rest are gravy...I'd rather find out you took a few days off from Monday to Wednesday did Thursday Friday Saturday and then what ever else you could fit in.

    Remember I can always fix rest!! :)
