Dawn Cass - Injury Plan

Hello, I did post in the injury forum however interested in what coaches suggests here.

Hamstring injury still haunting me.  Doctors say 3 months recovery...so currently decide no cycle or running.  (killing me!)

They say focus on core while injury heals.

Coach Patrick, while you were out, you mentioned how much you learned a lot about core.  Anything more you can suggest apart from wiki in this site?  Did you do something different?  Any dvd's you would recommend to keep me sane? I bought a couple DVDs and also a book that fellow EN suggested.

I have no way to keep up the cardio right now....and ok, as it's September but cannot handle doing "nothing"!

  • Dawn, you are on the right path. Nothing super special with core as you can't get too crazy with your hammy. You could be come a little fishy in a masters swim class too; probably can't hurt!

    I'd also consider Yoga (class or DVD) to help overall flexibility and body awareness. Finally you can make some good lifestyle choices re diet, sleep, etc. That can pay off long term when you start to add the workouts back in!!!!
