Taking a break from Endurance Nation
The time has come for me to take a step away from Endurance Nation for a little while. This was not an easy decision. I have been training & racing the Endurance Nation way since 2008, first as a training plan customer and then as a member. As we all know, "Work Works", and it's very difficult to move away from something that works so well.
During the past 6 years, Endurance Nation has helped me progress from an underachieving Triathlete-Training-Bible-following, three-hour-indoor-winter-trainer-ride-doer to a smart, experienced self-coached, race execution ninja.
A few years ago I discovered duathlon and have never seen a pool or turned back since. Also in the past year I have discovered yet another fringe sport that I am very enthusiastic about: powerlifting. I attempted to adjust the EN training paradigm and accommodate my powerlifting training on-the-fly, but all I ended up doing was burn the candle at both ends. I've become too much of a square peg trying to fit inside a round hole.
I'm not going to completely disappear. I will continue to follow the team from "the outside" (Twitter, Facebook, blog, podcasts, etc.). For you AmZof'ers out there, I will be returning to AmZof for a second round in 2015, and I'll be keeping an eye out for EN jerseys when I'm down there.

It is time to move on and follow my own path. I don't quite know where I'll end up. But the journey will definitely involve many of the things I've picked up on inside EN: pain caves, Fast before Far, FTP intervals on TrainerRoad, vDot calculations, race execution, etc.
I don't know if or when I'll be back. But I am forever grateful for being a part of these team, the experiences I've had, the knowledge I've gained, and my growth as athlete. When people I know approach me looking for triathlon training advice, Endurance Nation is the first place I point them to.I'm not going to completely disappear. Brent,
It looks like you have a new set of challenges ahead of you and enjoy the powerlifting adventure. At least you were only doing 3 hour indoor trainer rides, I've done 6.
Gordon
I always tell my people that it doesn't matter what we do, just do something, and with passion and gusto. Life comes around only once, so do some stuff that's cool while you can.
Good luck & Have fun!
And two more: Good luck!
